In this interview, originally recorded for At Your Own Peril – a five-part series about the history of risk that was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 – emergency planner and disaster recovery expert Lucy Easthope discusses Grenfell Tower with the journalist Peter Apps, author of the Orwell Prize-winning book Show Me the Bodies. They explore what happened on 14 June 2017 in which a devastating fire killed 72 residents of the tower block in West London; the many layers of risk that had accumulated over decades and which eventually led to the disaster; and the wider distribution of risk within society.
